“We the undersigned demand that the Home Secretary set up a public inquiry to examine the police investigation into the murders of Haroon Jahan, Shazad Ali and Abdul Musavir in August 2011. Three years after the triple homicide, a failed trial, an examination of evidence by the Crown Prosecution and latterly the deeply unsatisfactory report by the Independent Police Complaints Commission, the families are no nearer to obtaining justice for their sons. If anything, the picture of what happened that night and in the weeks and months that followed has become more confused with key agents in the process refusing to cooperate fully with investigators. A public inquiry is required to provide answers to the families and to ensure that those responsible for the unlawful killings are brought to justice”.
